Surendra Kumar Somany

Chairman & Founder

At 95 years of age, Mr. Surendra Kumar Somany represents the enduring bedrock of Indian industrial excellence. A visionary who began his career at the age of sixteen, he is a foundational figure of the Somany Group—a legacy that has shaped the landscape of modern Indian manufacturing across ceramics, sanitaryware, glass, and textiles.

His career is a testament to the power of long-term thinking. Having pioneered and scaled national leaders such as Somany Ceramics, Hindustan National Glass, and Hindware, Mr. Somany brings nearly eight decades of institutional wisdom to SEKL. He is the guardian of our "Quality-First" mandate, instilling a philosophy that rejects short-term gains in favor of transparent, value-added partnerships and sustainable industrial growth.

Despite his legendary tenure, Mr. Somany remains an active presence in the daily operations of SEKL, visiting both the corporate office and the factory floor every day. His enduring passion for manufacturing and his insistence on disciplined hard work serve as the ethical framework for our entire organization. Under his guidance, SEKL operates not just as a factory, but as a continuation of a 70-year family tradition of integrity and manufacturing prestige.

Gyanaranjan Nayak

Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Gyanaranjan Nayak is the operational architect of the modern SEKL era, bringing over 32 years of high-level expertise across the global textile and apparel manufacturing value chain. His career is defined by industrial resilience; he has successfully led operations through the 1990s industrial revolution, the Y2K technological transition, the 2008 global recession, and the operational complexities of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Prior to joining Somany Evergreen Knits Ltd., Mr. Nayak held senior leadership roles at some of India’s most prestigious textile houses, including Alok Industries, Arvind Limited, Maral Overseas, Defiance Knits, and Indorama Industries. His deep hands-on expertise spans multiple technical verticals—including knitting, dyeing, finishing, weaving, and specialized yarn manufacturing—enabling him to drive world-class operational excellence and sustainable growth at SEKL.

Under his stewardship, SEKL has prioritized technical innovation and process efficiency, establishing the company as a forward-looking and reliable global partner. His leadership philosophy is built on the pillars of consistency, long-term partnerships, and continuous improvement, ensuring that SEKL remains at the cutting edge of global market demands.
